About Jack Palance
Best known for his Oscar winning performance as Curly in City Slickers, Jack Palance was definitely more than just a cowboy.
A proud Pennsylvania native of Ukranian immigrant parents, his extraordinary athletic prowess was his ticket out of the coal mining area as it won him a football scholarship to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He later graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Journalism and Theatre.
